For the second time official start of Ghent-Wevelgem took place at the front door of Biking Box' Biking Bar in Ypres. But as the COVID pandemic crisis continues, it did not allow us to open our doors... A 2nd edition without cycling fans in or around the race.... The sports, leisure & tourism sector to which we are a part continues to hit extremely hard.
Fortunately, we still had Radio 1-Sporza who came to visit us. Here the radio-reportage here !
Make an appointment by phone or e-mail request and we will either come and collect the bicycles at the Biking Box bicycle café (in Menenstraat 15). Or at other locations that can be mutually coordinated. Possibly delivered to your hotel or B&B. In any case, we have provided 2 alternative locations, which are already designated as a fixed pick-up point until the end of June. After all, it is not always possible to provide someone at the Biking Box Bicycle Experience Centre, which must remain closed. Dito for returning it there. Although you can leave the bicycles closed in front of the door, after which they will be safely stored later that evening. It is as it is at the moment and we can only hope that when cycling experience tourism can really restart, this will happen without further corona nuisance. Everyone now realizes that it makes little sense to continue in such an inefficient way as it has to be done since more than a year… Everyone yearns for ‘back to normal’, so that we too can go back on the road with nice and wider cycling groups. Despite this stressy situation, behind the scenes we are bravely trying to ‘build’ on, albeit with the handbrake on. Safety & survival first!
